To Insure or to not Insure...?
We have a owned a few pets during our married life and had never even thought about taking out pet insurance during that time let alone actually done it! Then we bought our most recent pet in September 2009, a beautiful Great Dane boy we named Monty. Still didn't think about getting any pet insurance until, after a trip to VRVS with Monty due to gastrointestinal problems (we'll leave it at that!), his wonderful vet, Jodie, suggested it. Well, we took the leaflet, read it through, discussed it, hummed and heyed, put the leaflet on one side, discussed it again - then finally signed up.
Taking out that pet insurance has been one of the best moves we have ever made! Monty has had a couple of major issues so far and, although we would have still had him treated in exactly the same way because we love him to bits and he's such an important part of our family, having pet insurance certainly removed the emotional and financial angst that comes with having to make such decisions.
So, there's no question in our mind - definitely insure!
